Since its inception, The US-Ukraine Foundation has understood the need to build leadership in Ukraine in all sectors of society. Hundreds of Ukrainians have participated in USUF Leadership and Education programs many of whom today are the leaders of change that are part of the reform movement in Ukraine.

Young Leaders and Education Programs

The U.S.-Ukraine Foundation (USUF) is engaged in a number of educational, scholarship, training, awards and exchange programs aimed at supporting a new generation of emerging leaders in Ukraine, who will be drivers of positive change in the country.  These programs and initiatives provide young Ukrainians with knowledge, experience and recognition that will empower them to lead Ukraine in the 21st-century global innovation economy and to deal with the challenges that society faces in this rapidly evolving environment.

Internships

Interning at US-Ukraine Foundation

The US-Ukraine Foundation’s Internship Program offers an exciting opportunity for exceptionally talented individuals who would like to broaden their studies by assisting in the development of Ukraine’s democracy. Our interns have the chance to interact with experts, scholars, and young, upcoming leaders engaged in US-Ukraine relations.

Volunteer interns are recruited year-round on a semester basis in both the Kyiv and Washington, DC offices. The internships are voluntary and generally offered each semester, while requiring a part-time commitment of at least fifteen to twenty hours per week. A volunteer intern’s duties generally consist of departmental support, editing and writing, research, and event coordination.

The US-Ukraine Foundation generally considers undergraduate and graduate students with majors in international relations, political science, economics, or a related field for its Internship Program. A regional specialization in Ukraine as well as language skills is a plus. In addition to meeting the intellectual requirements, applicants should have excellent skills in administration, writing, and research; basic computer skills; and previous office experience.
