DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - Genesis Materials Services shipped boxes of medical supplies Tuesday to the AFYA Foundation in New York, which is coordinating periodic airlifts to Ukraine.
Genesis Health Systems said in a media release, the supplies will help medical facilities hit hard by Russian attacks and the many medical needs of injured civilians.
“On the news, we see the horror of the war in Ukraine, and our hearts go out to those health care workers who are working to care for patients during attacks on medical facilities,” said Lisa Rogalski, Director of Material Services. “We are honored to join other U.S. health care organizations providing assistance and to spread the mission of Genesis to a country with overwhelming medical supply needs.”
The donated boxes contained $1,000 in supplies, from wound dressings, scalpels, stethoscopes, penlights, alcohol prep pads, and Steri-Strips, Genesis said. Another $400 worth of outdated gloves and gowns was happily accepted by the foundation. More...
